The pre-Socratic Greek philosopher, Heraclitus, quoted – Change is the only constant in life. We all go through changes every day. Some are expected, some are surprising, some we accept with our whole heart, while some we dread. Changes affect us all, and we all have our coping mechanisms in place to deal with them. What about you? Do you accept or resist change?

What does Change is the only constant in life mean?
“Change is constant” means that change is transpiring continuously, while “change is a consistent” means that change is an always-to-be-expected condition. Nothing is permanent except change.
Over the course of years, I have realized that it is not the change in my life that I detest but it is my own mental challenge of getting out of my comfort that creates an obstacle to embracing the change. Every single change in our life leaves an everlasting impression on us in one way or another. Life comes with its own share of ups and downs, and whether we like it or not, many of our plans do not unfold the way we had planned them out to be. Change is the only constant in life.

The rate of change may be different for different things, so we get the illusion of permanence regarding certain things if their rate of change is slow. So, when the rate of change of a person (or institution, or situation) suddenly increases or decreases we are taken aback and feel alarmed that “things are changing suddenly”. We can extrapolate that to our daily lives as well. Nothing EVER rests everything moves and changes – that’s how nature is and that is why Change is the only constant in life.
Why should you embrace change?
The great news is that embracing change is not a complicated skill to learn. Once you begin to look at change as a healthy thing, you’ll be amazed at some of the advantages that can follow. Here are some very important reasons why embracing change is a very good habit.
1. Flexibility with Change –
Have you heard anyone say “Nothing changes, if nothing changes”? If you want a certain change in your life, you have to break the life cycle that you are currently living. For eg – If I want to lose weight, I cannot achieve it just wishing for it. I will have to start working out and eating mindfully OR If I want to learn a new skill, I will HAVE to challenge myself to unlearn what I already know to learn something new.
2. Change makes you stronger –
Without being required to accept changes, you may never discover the true depth of your own strength – including your capacity to accommodate to new challenging ways. Sure, it is tough in the beginning but as you realize the goodness it withholds, you will learn to embrace the change because Change is the only constant in life.
3. Change brings new schedule to your daily life –
Change keeps your mind active, refocusing your thoughts so your mind stays active and doesn’t become fixated on negative thought patterns.
4. Opportunities that come with change
Change can present opportunities that can have a domino impression, furnishing you with more alternatives than you ever imagined were possible – so you can create a more fulfilling and factual life.
5. Any Change helps you grow
Variations often force us to readjust in ways we’ve never endured, which can be a major driver of personal (and even professional) growth and extension. Always Remember – Change is the only constant in life
How to bring Change in your life?
Change is so many elements. It’s scary, thrilling, and variable, but most of all its imminent. Take a moment and think what was the most important thing for you 6 years ago? What about your favorite food or the clothes you wore? Are your choices still same? I highly doubt so!
Change is the only constant in life – Simple ways to bring change!
1. Have a positive mind
Before you embrace any change, think positively. think about the goodness this change is going to bring in your life. Your mind’s perception is what drives your life. If you start with a negative, closed mindset you’re immediately shirking yourself off from any possibilities because you can’t see through the negative.
2. Say bye to friends who DO NOT support your growth
Our friendships, in many ways, help us decide the BIG things in life. Some buddies bring you down and narrow your potential for concrete change. Check who is compatible with you and who can help you in your growth rather than pull you down.
3. Change Your Routine
Sticking to the same routine is not going to bring a change in your life. As I mentioned above, every change in your life needs you to change something. Change is the only constant in life
4. A Mentor to guide you through the process
A mentor isn’t an obligation. But for many of us, having someone to lead us and help us think the way we should and it’s always easy to acquire through someone else’s successes and losers.
Change is the only constant in life
Change is unavoidable. It’s like the constant engine arriving at the station, you cannot stop it from reaching. We must climb on that train of change and see where it takes us. Afterall, Change is the only constant in life.
