ZEE5 Churails Review – Female Empowering Show

I am a huge women-oriented movie and series fan. In fact, I am almost always in search of a series where women are shown stronger and fearless. This is my ZEE5 Churails Review – Female Empowering Show to binge on this weekend.

The recent show from Pakistan named CHURAILS caught my attention and I had to check it out!

I was not disappointed. The series checks all the right boxes for me in Drama | Mystery | Thriller. The sarcastic show has been rightly given the title of Churails, as it aims to the fact that even today, confident, free, independent women are considered threats.

Churails is a 2020 drama web series for Zindagi Original. It is written and directed by Asim Abbasi. The web series stars Sarwat Gilani, Mehar Bano, Nimra Bucha and Yasra Rizvi in lead roles. It is produced by Asim Abbasi along with Mo Azmi and Shailja Kejriwal

Churails is a ZEE5 Exclusive Zindagi Original series starring Sarwat Gillani, Mehar Bano, Nirma Bucha, and Yasra Rizvi. The series is set in Karachi and spins around 4 young women who create an undercover detective agency under the pretense of a fashion store named ‘Halal Designs’. Their main motive is to find and expose deceitful and wicked husbands amongst Karachi’s best.

Drama | Mystery | Thriller

A mixed group of people join their cause, ranging from members of the LGBTQ+ community to hackers & prisoners who’ve completed serving time for various crimes. This group starts taking on cases from skeptical wives and starts earning tonnes of money.

It’s all honkey dorey, and everything is going as planned,  until one of the group’s ex-members goes missing. This sets the whole team on defense and they start chasing. This brings them face-to-face with murderous men and dangerous crime rackets. From here on, the show transforms from a breezy, fun watch to a dark and rather disturbing roller-coaster ride.

Hard-hitting on a taboo Sensitive topic

I don’t think I have come across any Pakistani series where women’s sexuality and their desires are discussed openly, until CHURAILS on ZEE5. Even today, women’s sexuality is a hush-hush topic and people would rather bury it rather than discussing what women really want!

CHURAILS on ZEE5 touches on these sensitive topics very cleverly and showcases the desires of all 4 lead women openly. Hopefully, this series is able to create a dent in Pakistani soaps and how women are seen.

Female Empowerment

Like all women on this planet, the 4 lead women in CHURAILS on ZEE5 also struggle with their individual issues and fight their own battles. The series #MainChurailHoon highlights on the character traits of these lead women exclusively and showcase that every female is important and strong in her own way. When its time, she does take lead and steps up to face the world.

Women don’t wait for a fairy-tale anymore

All through history women are showcased as damsels in distress waiting for their prince saving them from distress. Not on CHURAILS. #MainChurailHoon showcases that women don’t and won’t sit around. These fearless women have taken up among themselves to challenge the patriarchal setup of the Pakistani elite and bring an end to injustice. Their courage and confidence spellbind the audience.

Binge Watch Churails is a ZEE5

The performances of all the 4 lead female gang members will surely mesmerize you! the direction is amazing. The show is groundbreaking on many lines. Not your typical household drama storyline of saas-bahu.

  • Batool is an ex-convict, the role is played by Nimra Bucha, and she does the role persuasively.
  • Zubaida as a boxer and has got a remarkable figure and Mehar Bano is fair and convncing to the part allocated to her.
  • Sarwat Gilani Mirza is classy and witty at the same time. She plays the role of a trophy wife as Sara with ease.
  • The role of Jugnoo is striking and is played by Yasra Rizvi.
