Turmeric – The Golden Spice or popularly known as Haldi, is a commonly used widespread spice in Indian cuisine. This golden spice is used; not only in cooking but also used for skin beautification and as a dietary supplement.

Simple ways of incorporating Turmeric – The Golden Spice – in your daily diet –

Cold buster – 

Mix one part powdered turmeric to three parts raw honey.

When you feel a cold coming on, eat a teaspoon of the mixture every two hours to boost immunity and lower inflammation.

Golden milk. 

Bring to a boil 2 cups of milk with 1 teaspoon powdered turmeric and 1 teaspoon powdered ginger. Turn off heat, let cool for a few minutes and add 1 tablespoon of honey. If you’re drinking it before bed, add a ½ teaspoon each of nutmeg, cinnamon, and cardamom to the mixture to promote a good night’s sleep.

Optional: Add 2 teaspoons of ghee or good-quality coconut oil.

Soup it up.

Add a tablespoon of powdered turmeric to your vegetable soup along with lots of fresh oregano, to kill any infections or viruses that may be hanging on in your body.

Turmeric tea – 

Mix 2 teaspoons turmeric powder in 2 cups boiling water, & add 1 tablespoon of honey, the juice of a lemon, and a sprinkle of black pepper.

With more and more research coming out every day on the health benefits of this amazing spice, it’s hard to think there is anything that turmeric couldn’t help with!

  7. Yes, definitely turmeric is a golden spice. I drink lukewarm milk with turmeric powder whenever I have cough & cold. It keeps the body warm and helps to improve immunity. I like the idea of turmeric tea.
